The numbers so far
The national championship, every December
Children who clear Level 5 can join our competition batch, a second weekly session from August to December that trains on past championship papers. In December they sit the regional round of the national abacus and mental arithmetic championship; qualifiers travel to the national round with a teacher and their parents.
In 2025, 14 of our students qualified for the national round and 5 came home with trophies. Every participant, trophy or not, comes back faster: the competition batch averages 30% more sums per timed drill by December than in August.
What parents report by Level 4
School maths marks
Mental sums stop costing time in school tests, so marks rise where careless errors used to be.
Concentration
A 90-minute class with timed drills builds the habit of sitting with one task until it is done.
Confidence with numbers
Children volunteer answers in class because the answer arrives before the fear does.
Both hands, both sides
Two-hand bead work exercises left and right sides of the brain together, the reason abacus training starts young.
About the academy
Ganit Abacus Academy was started in 2017 by Krupa Patel, a Level 8 certified abacus instructor, in one room on Adajan Gam Road. Today three certified teachers run 14 batches a week from the same building, and the academy has issued 220 level certificates.
We keep two rules: batches stay at 10, and every claim we make about a child's speed is something you can time yourself at the next parent visit.
See a drill in person
Visit on any Saturday, watch the seniors do a timed drill, and let your child try the demo class the same day.
